Pinterest organic traffic will get limited

After Pinterest has been publicly listed, it is no surprise that they will now be concerned about profits more than ever before.

We all know how advertising is the main driver of profits for any form of media without charging the users any subscription fees.

Similarly, in order to keep the platform free for all the Pinterest users, Pinterest would naturally put more emphasis on promoted pins a.k.a. advertised pins.

Just like what happened on Facebook, the organic reach for Facebook posts has significantly decreased after Facebook started getting businesses to run Facebook advertisements.

Likewise, this will also happen on Pinterest.

It is important to note that Pinterest is still a great way to drive free traffic to your blog.

However, it is only fair to expect that the organic reach your pins receive will decrease as more and more people take on Pinterest advertising.

Therefore, while everyone is still pretty new to running promoted pins campaigns, now is the best time for you to get started!

You will be better able to catch seasonal Pinterest traffic

Running promoting campaigns means that you will be able to catch the seasonal traffic Pinterest spike even if you fail to plan sufficiently ahead of time.

Typically, if you want to catch the traffic spike on Pinterest that happens on special occasions, you need to put up your pin at least 6 weeks up to 6 months ahead of time.

This is to give your pins sufficient runway to get picked up by the Pinterest traffic as it surges.

However, let’s be honest. It is not always possible to plan and write posts 4 to 6 months ahead of time.

Therefore, if you really want to bank on the Pinterest traffic spike without worrying about having a long runway, promoted pin campaigns can be the key to your success.

Since you are paying to run a pin advertisement, your pin will appear at the top of the searches based on your selected keywords.

Therefore, as long as you have done proper research on the right keywords and have an attractive pin, your pin conversions should be very high.

You can then successfully drive a lot of traffic to your blog and maximize the rise in seasonal traffic on Pinterest.

More traffic would mean more sales and more money for you!

That will totally make running a promoted pin campaign worth its investment!

It is not expensive to run a Pinterest promoted pain campaign

I have had experience running Facebook ads and I used to spend up to $5 a day for my Facebook ad campaigns.

Through those Facebook ads, I managed to grow my Facebook page with more likes and followers.

However, the blog traffic coming from those Facebook ads was not significant.

In comparison, Pinterest ad campaigns are much more effective.

Not only do the promoted pins bring me a lot more blog traffic, but Pinterest ad campaigns have also brought me sales as well!

The best part is, promoted pins are not expensive at all!

You can run a promoted pain campaign for as low as two to three dollars a day.

And your conversion rates can cost you as little as two cents.

This means that it costs you two cents every time a Pinterest user clicks on your pin and is brought to your blog post or sales page.

Gaining blog subscribers through promoted pin campaigns is way better than just getting likes on my Facebook page.

This is why running Pinterest ad campaigns is suitable even for small-time bloggers like me.

The advertising costs can be kept really low, according to your budget, and yet the results can be overwhelming.

My Black Friday promoted pin campaign case study

I have been blogging since February 2018.

My first blog was a flop. Then I decided to switch to using WordPress and started a brand new site (this one) in May 2019.

My subscribers used to be mainly moms who love using printables because that’s my niche.

I have only recently started writing on blogging tips and I joined several affiliate programs a few months ago.

Therefore, I was really hoping to make some sales over the Black Friday weekend.

So, in November 2019, I spent $135 on running Pinterest promoted pins in preparation for the Black Friday sales.

Where previously my mailing list grows at less than a hundred a month, my blog saw 363 new subscribers in November!

And I was gaining new subscribers who are interested in blogging tips!

Through that promoted pin campaign, I also made 2 affiliate sales and my first Amazon sale!

November was also the first time my blog surpassed 10,000 monthly pageviews!

As you can see, the results from my Black Friday promoted pin campaign was a huge win me.

No matter what stage of blogging you are at right now, believe me, Pinterest promoted pin campaigns can bring you amazing results, too!
